Kenna Street Park Dog Off Leash Area, also known locally as John Goss Reserve, is a large partly fenced off-leash park on Maundrell Terrace in Chermside West. It has a separate small-dog section, basic agility equipment, and good tree shade, and it is open 24 hours.

The rules. Dogs must be under effective voice control at all times, even off-leash, and kept on lead when entering or exiting the park. Any dog showing aggressive or anti-social behaviour must be leashed and removed immediately. Owners are required to stay in sight of their dogs and pick up after them, with bags provided on-site.

What's there. Shaded seating, waste bags and bins, a fenced small-dog area, basic agility equipment, and water access, though bringing your own bowl is a sensible backup. The park sits next to a playground with shade sails.

Getting there. The park runs directly off Maundrell Terrace, with street parking near the entrance. Bus services along Maundrell Terrace and nearby Webster Road provide a public transport option.

Weekday mornings before 9am, evenings after 4pm, and weekend mornings are the busiest. If your dog is nervous around others, a weekday midday visit is a safer bet. The park's size makes it easy to find a quieter corner even when busy.
