Coolabah Crescent Park Dog Off Leash Area

Coolabah Crescent Park sits in a quiet residential pocket of Bridgeman Downs, where a designated off-leash zone sits inside a broader neighbourhood park under Brisbane City Council rules. It is a local top-up space rather than a destination dog park, and it works best as a short leg-stretch on the way through the suburb.

The dog setup

The off-leash zone is small and partly enclosed, with two entry points into the designated area. Once inside, dogs can run free, but the surrounding park stays on-lead, particularly along the creek corridor where Cabbage Tree Creek runs through. Council's standard off-leash conditions apply: carry a leash at all times, keep your dog under effective control, and step in quickly if play turns pushy. Registration and current vaccination are required, and dogs in heat and restricted breeds stay out of off-leash areas altogether.

Worth knowing

Mature trees give the park solid shade cover, and there is a wide dog water trough, metal benches and a covered seating area. The grass turns muddy after heavy rain, so bring old towels in winter. Because the space is compact, a handful of dogs can make it feel full, and the creek line near the boundary deserves a watchful eye with keen explorers. Weekday mid-mornings are the calm window, with weekend mornings and the after-work rush the busiest stretches.

Max: the off-leash zone is small and partly enclosed, so if your dog gets overwhelmed around other dogs, a weekday visit beats a weekend morning.

Getting there and parking

Access is via Karri Place, with street parking on the surrounding residential streets. There is no train service to the door; the closest buses run along Albany Creek Road and Beckett Road, both a short walk away.

Close by with the dogs

Two cafes on Canopus Street are minutes away and both welcome dogs outside: Keeper Coffee and ATLAS KAFFE. Either makes an easy coffee stop on either side of the walk.
