Middle Park Fenced Dog Park

Middle Park Fenced Dog Park sits at 161 Middle Road in Boronia Heights, a Logan City Council reserve with a double-gated, fully fenced off-leash area split into separate small-dog and large-dog yards. The two enclosures are buffered by a line of trees, which keeps fence-frustration between mismatched dogs down and makes it an easy choice for owners of timid or small dogs.

The dog setup

Dogs stay on leash until you are through both gates, then it is off-leash inside the enclosures. Owners need to stay in the yard and supervise, keep a leash visible, and clean up promptly using the bag dispensers and bins provided. Any dog showing aggression is leashed and removed straight away. Both yards are grassed with mature eucalypt shade, and there is a water station, covered seating and some agility gear on the large-dog side.

Pepsi: the small-dog gate is its own little world. If your dog goes nervous around big play, start there before trying the main yard, and bring a spare water bowl midweek when the station gets less attention.

The vibe

Weekends and public holidays draw the biggest crowds, and weekday mornings are busy with the regulars. Weekday afternoons are the quiet window. There is no night lighting, so plan for daylight visits. Because the small-dog yard is properly separated, it is a reliable option for dogs that need their own space.

Getting there and parking

The park is inside the wider Middle Park reserve, with a free car park at the entry off Middle Road. It fills around peak weekend sport times on the adjoining fields but is easy on weekdays. Logan bus routes run along Middle Road if you are not driving. The reserve also holds a playground, basketball courts and a bike track, and dogs stay on leash through those areas.

Close by with the dogs

There is no cafe strip at the park itself, but the 107 Coffee Terminal / Sabroso in Browns Plains and Simple Bliss Coffee in Forest Lake are both a short drive for the post-park coffee.
