Dogs are welcome on the shaded wooden deck overlooking the lake, and the cafe sits directly on the parklands walking track, so it slots neatly into a lap of the lake.

The dog setup. Bring your dog to the outdoor deck, not inside. Staff keep water bowls on hand and often have dog treats going, so you rarely need to pack your own. Being on the track means you can arrive damp-pawed after a walk without a second thought.

Good to know. Reviewers rate the coffee (Black Sheep beans), the acai bowls, toasties and croissants, and the lake view most of all. It runs busy and community-focused, so expect a wait at weekend brunch.

Getting there. On The Esplanade by the water, with street parking nearby. Easiest as a stop on a parklands walk rather than a dedicated drive.

Nearby with the dogs. The Forest Lake Sports Fields dog park is a short hop for an off-leash run before or after your coffee, and the lake parklands loop straight past the door.
