Inala Dog Park

Inala Dog Park is a large, fully fenced off-leash area in Inala, in Brisbane's south-west, open around the clock. The fenced yard sits within the reserve network around Kev Hooper Park, and if your maps app gets confused, searching Kev Hooper Memorial Park lands you at the same precinct.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fenced with chain-link and a double-gated entry airlock, so you can unclip without an escape risk at the gate. It is a grassed exercise area with some gentle slopes and mature trees around the edges. Dogs go off-leash inside the fence only; they go back on the lead outside it, including on the paths and in the car park. Council rules expect owners to stay inside with their dog in direct sight, keep them under effective control, and leash and remove any dog showing aggression. Puppies without full vaccination and dogs in heat are not permitted in off-leash areas.

Amenities are practical: bench seating for owners, dog water, rubbish bins and bag dispensers. Shade is patchy in places, so bring water on hot days, and carry spare bags in case the dispenser is empty.

Pepsi: the yard is big enough for a proper gallop, not just a sniff around, which is the main reason locals keep coming back.

The vibe

Weekday mornings, late afternoons and weekends are the busy windows. Mid-day and weekday afternoons are quieter if your dog needs space to warm up. It suits dogs that want a secure fence and some social time, and the size of the yard means regulars can spread out.

Getting there and parking

The park sits off the Inala street grid with parking usually available near the entrance, and local bus routes run along the nearby main streets. Entry points nearby are wheelchair accessible.

Close by with the dogs

The Kev Hooper Park Dog Park is the other named yard in the same precinct, and the C.J. Greenfield Park Dog Park at Richlands is a short drive east. For a leashed bushwalk instead, the Pooh Corner Bushland Reserve at Wacol is worth the trip, and the Pallara Park Fenced Dog Park adds agility equipment to the rotation.
