Pallara Park Fenced Dog Park

Pallara Park Fenced Dog Park, known locally as Brookbent Park, sits at the corner of Gooderham Road and Brookbent Road in Pallara on Brisbane's south-west fringe. It is a purpose-built off-leash facility with two fully fenced enclosures and double-gate entry, which makes it a genuine option for dogs that need a secure run rather than an open reserve.

The dog setup

Two separate fenced areas let you match the space to your dog, with one enclosure suited to smaller or quieter dogs and the other giving bigger dogs room to run. Entry runs through a double-gate airlock, so check the latch behind you on the way in.

Inside there are agility obstacles and training equipment for dogs that want a job to do, shade trees, drinking water and benches. The enclosure sits beside the wider Pallara Park precinct, so dogs must be on-lead while you cross the main park, playground and car park areas.

Brisbane City Council rules apply: stay with your dog and keep it under effective control, carry bags and use the bins provided, and leash up and leave if your dog gets aggressive. The space is open 24 hours.

The vibe

This is a family park as much as a dog park. The adjoining precinct has a modern playground, a learn-to-ride bike track with mini road markings, covered picnic shelters and barbecues, which makes it an easy stop for households juggling kids and hounds.

Weekends are the busy window, particularly Saturday mornings through to Sunday evenings, and the enclosures fill up accordingly. If your dog prefers quiet, aim for a weekday morning when recall is easier and the gates stay calm.

Getting there and parking

Coming by car, take the Logan Motorway (M2) and follow the signs toward Pallara, or approach via Inala Ave, with free street parking along Brookbent Road. Public transport is limited, with bus stops on Inala Ave and Gooderham Road a walk from the gate.

Close by with the dogs
