Hillcrest Off leash dog park

The Hillcrest off-leash dog park sits on Seaton Street in Hillcrest, just off Browns Plains Road on Logan's southern edge. Locals know it as the off-leash area at Seaton Park, and it plays the role of neighbourhood run rather than destination park: fenced, tree-shaded, open 24 hours, with no gate hours or council closures to plan around.

The dog setup

Secure fencing rings the whole area, with established trees throwing shade across it and a few benches for owners who would rather sit than pace. Logan City Council's rules still apply inside the fence: dogs stay under effective voice control at all times, leashes come off only once you are through the gate and not before, female dogs in season are not permitted, and waste gets picked up immediately. Wheelchair-accessible parking and entry are provided.

The vibe

Think local crowd, regular names, quiet weekday mornings. Sunday through to early afternoon is the calmest stretch, while evenings from Wednesday through the weekend draw the bigger crowds, so aim earlier in the day if your dog needs room to settle. There is no playground or sports field attached, which keeps foot traffic down and the ground mostly to dogs and their people.

Getting there and parking

The park is off Browns Plains Road, with street parking available via Seaton Street. There is no rail line nearby, so it is realistically a car trip unless you are already local, and the buses running through Browns Plains are the nearest public option.

Close by with the dogs

Kokolanis Cafe & Kitchen is about 1.5 to 2km away and welcomes dogs in its outdoor seating, which makes a walk-then-breakfast morning work well. If you want to stack a second off-leash session onto the trip, the Regents Park Fenced Dog Park and the Drewvale off-leash park are both nearby, and the Karawatha Forest trails suit a longer on-leash walk.
