Some areas have fenced play space; the creek-side sections generally are not fenced, so dogs can get down to the water itself. Don't expect manicured amenities here, it's a natural setting rather than a purpose-built dog park.

Getting there. The reserve is accessed off local streets in Bankstown, with parking available nearby. Public transport doesn't run right to the gate, so it is mostly a walk-in from surrounding streets or a short drive. After rain, expect the ground to be soft and muddy underfoot, so old shoes and a towel for the car are a good idea.

Nearby with the dogs. Bankstown's cafe strip has a few dog-friendly options worth pairing with a visit, including Manoush & Co Bankstown, C&C Cafe, and Haus Of Pizza Cafe, all a short drive from the reserve.

Go early on a dry morning if you want the place to yourselves and firmer ground underfoot. It's a solid pick for dogs that are happy exploring on a loose lead near water, less so for a boisterous dog that needs a securely fenced yard to burn off energy.
