Manoush & Co Bankstown

Manoush & Co is a modern Lebanese bakery cafe at 345 Hume Highway, Bankstown, turning out fresh manoush from early morning alongside specialty coffee. It opens at 6am daily, dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating areas, and the fast counter service makes it an easy stop for a coffee and a flatbread on the way through Sydney's south west.

The dog setup

Dogs on lead are allowed at the outdoor seating at the front of the venue. Staff have been known to bring water out on request, though carrying your own bowl is the safe bet. Keep your dog close: this is a busy highway frontage with cars, buses and delivery traffic rolling past the tables, so a short lead and a settled dog matter more here than at a quiet suburban strip.

Worth knowing

The ovens run traditional and modern manoush: classic za'atar, half meat and half cheese, halloumi pockets, sujuk wraps and labneh roll wraps, with fatteh among the local favourites. Prices sit in the budget-to-casual range, there is a strong run of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, and drinks cover artisan coffee, hot chocolate and cold refreshments. Hours run 6am to 5pm Monday to Wednesday and 6am to 8pm Thursday to Sunday, so it covers breakfast through early dinner.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on the Hume Highway at 345, with on-site parking and additional free street parking on the surrounding blocks. It is a drive-in stop as much as a walk-in one.

Close by with the dogs

Paul Keating Park gives a grassy on-lead stretch near the CBD but has no off-leash area. For a proper run, the Salt Pan Creek dog park is south of the centre and the Craig Street Reserve fenced dog park is a short drive east in Punchbowl.
