Calleya Fenced Dog Park

Calleya Fenced Dog Park sits in the Calleya estate on Clementine Boulevard, Treeby, on the Banjup border. It is a purpose-built, fully fenced off-leash area with separate large-dog and small-dog yards behind a tall timber perimeter, which puts it among the more genuinely secure runs in the City of Cockburn.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies inside the fenced enclosures only. Both entry points are double-gated, so there is a buffer between the street and the run, and the small-dog section has finer mesh added to the fencing so little dogs cannot squeeze between the timber posts. Owners keep dogs under effective control and clean up using the bags and bins provided. Inside there are agility obstacles, water taps with bowls, grass under mature shade trees and seating. A public barbecue area sits just outside the fence if you are stretching the visit out.

Max: watch the fence line in the large-dog section. Erosion grids have been exposed near the boundary at times, and a dog running flat out is not watching where its paws land.

The vibe

Early mornings are the quiet window; weekends and late weekday afternoons bring the crowds from the surrounding estate. Solar lights run along parts of the fencing but treat it as a dawn-to-dusk park rather than a night spot. The park sits beneath high-tension power lines, which most dogs ignore but is worth knowing. It suits owners who want a secure run rather than an open reserve, particularly with small dogs.

Getting there and parking

The park is off Clementine Boulevard, reached via Warton Road, with easy street parking along the boulevard. Public transport does not reach the park directly; the nearest useful link is Cockburn Central station followed by a short drive. The surrounding Calleya parklands add playgrounds and a community garden if you have kids in tow.

Close by with the dogs

Mooba Calleya is minutes away on Clementine Boulevard for coffee, and the Threepence Cafe in Hammond Park does a proper brunch a short drive off. For another secure run, the Baler Court Fenced Dog Park is the nearby option.
