Caramel Cafe sits at 131 Millaroo Drive, at the back of the Helensvale industrial estate next to Tradezone, and it has outgrown the address: this is a genuinely popular kitchen doing fresh, in-house made food rather than estate-canteen coffee. The dog angle is straightforward. Google lists dogs as allowed outside, and the sunny outdoor deck is where you and your dog sit, with the air-conditioned indoor room kept for people.

The dog setup

The deck is roomy enough to settle a dog beside your table without blocking the path, and the estate setting keeps things calmer than a suburban strip. Water bowls are not a listed feature, so pack a collapsible one. It is a weekday operation: doors open 5:30am for the early shift and the kitchen winds up at 2pm, Monday to Friday, closed on weekends.

The vibe

The kitchen runs from grab-and-go cabinet food to hot breakfast and lunch plates, with bacon and egg muffins, toasties with a following, daily chef's lunch specials and a solid run of vegetarian and vegan options. Coffee is consistently rated and there is online ordering if you want to skip the queue. Reviews pick up on the welcoming staff as much as the food, which helps when you turn up with a dog on the lead.

Getting there and parking

Helensvale is about 15 minutes north of the central Gold Coast strip and the cafe is easiest by car: take the Millaroo Drive turn off the main estate roads and there is free onsite parking right at the door. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, which also makes it an easy arrive-with-a-dog setup.

While you're out there

For an off-lead run before breakfast, Damian Leeding Memorial Park Fenced Dog Park at Oxenford is a short drive north with a fully fenced yard beside a lake loop. Closer in, Mangrove Jack Park's leash-free area is unfenced, so it suits dogs with reliable recall. If you are here on a weekend instead, FunnyBone Coffee at The Surrounds and Pi & Pine Cafe both take dogs at outdoor tables.
