Napper Road Dog Agility Park

Napper Road Dog Agility Park is a small, fully fenced off-leash park in Arundel, part of Christina Ryan Park beside the Arundel Wetlands. Despite the name, it is mostly flat grass with some shade trees rather than a serious agility course, and it works best as a controlled off-leash burn-off for local dogs rather than a big-dog sprint ground.

The dog setup

Off-leash play is restricted to inside the fenced enclosure, which has a double-gate entry; keep your dog on lead through the gates and in the rest of Christina Ryan Park. Once off lead, dogs need to be under reliable voice or hand control, and you are responsible for the clean-up, with bins usually provided on site. Children's playground areas are off limits to dogs entirely.

Facilities are basic: a handful of benches for owners, patchy shade that thins out around midday, and water that can be unreliable, so bring your own bowl and bottle rather than counting on a tap.

Pepsi: the fenced double gate makes this a relaxed one for a solo run around, just watch the ground turn muddy after rain.

Worth knowing

The park is open 24 hours and sits right on Napper Road, so parking is usually available but fills on weekends. Weekday mornings are quietest; late afternoons and weekends get busy from about 5 to 6:30pm when locals finish work. Gold Coast bus routes run nearby with a short walk in from the closest stop.

Close by with the dogs

Abbott Park Fenced Dog Park at Parkwood, next door to Arundel, is bigger with real agility obstacles and water taps, and Musgrave Offleash Agility Dog Park at Labrador is a short drive south for a proper run. For a swim leg, The Spit Dog Beach is the nearest dedicated dog beach.
