Mr Wednesday

Mr Wednesday is a relaxed neighbourhood brunch cafe at 144 Wingrove Street, Fairfield, a few steps from Fairfield Station. Dogs are explicitly welcome in the courtyard, which makes it an easy stop off the Yarra River trails.

The dog setup. Dogs go in the outdoor courtyard, with footpath seating also available. Inside the main building is not open to dogs. Staff are used to dogs and will usually bring out water.

Good to know. Well-rated coffee, including single-origin, and an all-day breakfast, brunch and burger menu with plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Open daily 7am to 2:30pm, closing earlier on some public holidays.

Getting there and parking. It is around the corner from Fairfield Station on the Hurstbridge line, so the train is the simplest option. Street parking is on Wingrove Street and the surrounding residential streets, with a commercial lot nearby.

Nearby with the dogs. The Yarra River trails and Fairfield Park are a short walk for a stroll before or after, and the Fairfield Park Boathouse sits down at the river.

When to go. Midweek is quieter and the courtyard tables come easily; weekends fill up. A shaded courtyard seat is the one to grab on a warm morning.
