Bancroft Roasters Currumbin

Bancroft Roasters is a small-batch roastery and neighbourhood cafe at 174 Galleon Way in Currumbin Waters, on the canal side of the southern Gold Coast. Coffee is roasted on-site and priced well, which is the main reason locals keep it in their weekly rotation. It opens early, 6am on weekdays and 7am on Sundays, with a midday close most days, and dogs are welcome at the casual outdoor seating.

The dog setup

Dogs settle right beside you in the outdoor seating, which is relaxed rather than polished, and staff are friendly towards dogs and known to hand out the odd treat. Water is usually easy to sort, though on a hot Gold Coast morning it pays to bring your own bowl. The site is wheelchair accessible and the footpath-side tables make for a low-effort stop with the dog.

On the menu

The kitchen covers brunch staples: eggs benedict variations, a loaded hash stack, avocado toast and bacon and egg rolls, plus vegetarian and vegan options and fresh wraps for lunch. Drinks run beyond the house-roasted coffee to artisan teas and thick milkshakes, and Friday trade extends into the evening with a dinner service from 4:30pm. The roast-to-cup setup means beans are available to take home.

Getting there and parking

Galleon Way runs through the Currumbin Waters light-industrial pocket off Currumbin Creek Road, with free off-street parking on site and street parking nearby, so arriving with a dog in tow is easy. The cafe sits a few minutes' drive from Currumbin Beach and the creek mouth.

Close by with the dogs

Tierney Park on the same street is a five-minute walk for an on-lead stretch of the legs, and the Tallebudgera Island dog off-leash area at Elanora is a short drive north for a proper off-leash run by the water. The Palm Beach dog off-leash beach on Currumbin Creek's northern bank adds calm water for a paddle. For a second coffee nearby, The Galleon 4223 is a dog-friendly cafe on the same street.
