Barefoot Barista Currumbin

Barefoot Barista sits at 794 Pacific Parade in Currumbin, directly across from Currumbin Beach, and it runs as a genuine local hangout rather than a cafe that merely tolerates dogs. Open from 6am daily, it is an easy post-walk or post-surf stop with sea breeze off the beach and a serious coffee program behind the counter.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the alfresco seating, where there is room to settle beside the table, and the staff have a reputation for accommodating regulars and their dogs. Water bowls are typically out, though a portable bowl covers you on packed weekends. With the beach opposite, most dogs arrive already exercised and ready to lie down, which is the ideal state for everyone.

Worth knowing

The coffee holds up: the usual espresso list plus filter, sticky chai, matcha and turmeric lattes for the alternative crowd. Food leans creative breakfast, with smashed avocado, bacon and egg wraps and crispy potato hash among the known picks, and lunch covers fish and chips, burgers and salads. House-made gelato is the surprise extra. The full menu runs until close at 3pm, so late breakfasts are safe.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Pacific Parade and fills quickly on weekend mornings, so come early or walk in from the beachfront paths. The cafe is an easy cycle or walk from Tugun along the coastal paths.

Close by with the dogs

Currumbin Beach is across the road, with paths running toward Tugun one way and Currumbin Alley the other; check council signage before dropping the lead, as nearby off-leash stretches run on set hours. If you are making a morning of it, Kinship and Tarte Tea Garden are other dog-friendly stops nearby, and Refinery Coffee is a short drive into Currumbin Waters.
