Kinship Currumbin

Kinship sits at 766 Pacific Parade as part of the Currumbin Surf Club family, directly across from the ocean, and it has become one of the busier dog spots on this stretch of the southern Gold Coast. The covered outdoor seating is the draw: you get the sea breeze without full sun, and the setup keeps working on a drizzly morning when most beachside cafes leave you exposed.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome throughout the covered outdoor area, and the dog offering is real rather than token: complimentary water bowls, doggie doughnuts and the occasional beef bite from the counter. Expect plenty of other dogs, so a leashed, settled dog works best. Weekends get packed, and the crowd is part of the appeal if your dog is sociable.

The vibe

The kitchen leans into creative breakfasts, from potato rosti and wagyu croissants to ricotta hotcakes and acai bowls, with the profits flowing back into beach safety and coastal protection through the surf club. Hours run mornings only, so arrive early; weekday service wraps up before midday and weekends run a little longer.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Pacific Parade and the surf club car park sits nearby, but both fill fast on weekend mornings. Coming early solves the parking and secures a table with room for a dog at the same time.

Close by with the dogs

Currumbin Beach is directly opposite, with the oceanfront walk towards Currumbin Alley for an on-lead leg-stretch afterwards; the Point Danger Lookout to Currumbin Alley route is the full-length version. Council leash rules apply on the sand unless signs say otherwise. For another coffee before you drive off, Barefoot Barista Currumbin and Cafe by the Bridge are both close.
