Top Shop at Wanda

Top Shop at Wanda sits at Shop 1, 35 Mitchell Road in Cronulla, a casual beachside cafe a short walk from the sand at Wanda Beach. It is built for exactly this: a coffee and a breakfast roll with the dog after a walk along the northern end of the Cronulla beachfront, with the water and the Esplanade path close enough to smell the salt.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the downstairs outdoor seating area, which has the beachfront outlook and enough space for a settled dog. Water bowls are usually around and staff are used to canine regulars; the interior is off limits, so plan for the outdoors on cold mornings. The casual, order-at-the-counter style makes it easy either way.

Worth knowing

The kitchen runs all day on breakfast and lunch staples: a bacon and egg roll, a big brekkie roll, a chorizo brekkie wrap and corn and quinoa fritters, with burgers and toasties for lunch. The Amazonia acai bowl with house-made vegan granola is a house signature, and there are cold-pressed juices, smoothies and banana bread for the rest of it. An early bird deal runs on weekday mornings, worth timing a post-walk feed around. Hours run 7:30am to 3pm daily.

Getting there and parking

Street parking lines Mitchell Road and the surrounding beach streets, though it thins out fast on sunny weekends. The Esplanade walking path runs close by, so many visitors arrive on foot after a beach walk, and Cronulla station is an easy walk if you are coming by train.

Close by with the dogs

Wanda Beach is directly across the road, and the coastal walk south toward Boat Harbour makes a good longer outing from here. If you are staying on the strip, Shelly Park Shop sits at the other end of the beachfront, while Makers Daily and Miss Jaffles Cafe are dog-friendly options closer to the mall.
