Top Shop at Wanda

Top Shop at Wanda is a casual beachside cafe at 35 Mitchell Road, steps from the sand at Wanda Beach. It is a community-minded spot built for exactly this: a coffee or breakfast with the dog after a walk along the northern end of the Cronulla strip.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the footpath and outdoor seating, which gives a good view of the beachfront. Water bowls are often out, and the staff are known to keep treats on hand for canine regulars. Indoors is off-limits to dogs, as at most NSW cafes, but the outdoor area is generous.

Good to know. Well rated for coffee and known for generous acai bowls with house-made vegan granola, plus house cupcakes. The food is solid and fairly priced for a beach cafe.

Getting there. Street parking sits along Mitchell Road and the surrounding beach streets, but it goes quickly on sunny mornings and weekends. The Esplanade walking path runs right past, so many people arrive on foot.

Nearby with the dogs. Wanda Beach is directly across the road, and the Wanda-to-Boat Harbour walk is a good longer outing from here along the coast.

Come early on a sunny day before the parking and the tables both go. Good for pairing with a long beach walk rather than a destination in itself.
