Makers Daily is a modern, matcha-led cafe at 33-39 Croydon Street, close to the centre of Cronulla. It is a trendy, energetic spot that opens 7am to 4pm every day, and the front tables on Croydon Street are where you can sit with the dog.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the light, breezy outdoor seating along Croydon Street, with staff used to the dog-walking trade this close to the beach. Water bowls are usually available, though on a busy morning carrying your own is the safe bet. The outdoor tables are limited in number and the venue is popular, so off-peak weekday mornings give the best shot at a spot.

Worth knowing

The main draw is the matcha, whisked fresh to order with rotating flavours that have included strawberry shortcake, maple sea salt and mango sticky rice, alongside the much-photographed pistachio matcha, smoothies and espresso. It is a quick-stop venue rather than a long sit-down with a big dog in tow, and the small number of outdoor tables can turn over slowly at peak.

Getting there and parking

Croydon Street has kerbside spots with paid parking in play at peak times, and the cafe is a short walk from Cronulla Station and the main shopping strip, which makes arriving on foot with the dog the simplest approach.

Close by with the dogs

The esplanade north of the beach suits an on-lead stroll, with the sand restrictions in mind during the day. For a proper off-lead run, Greenhills Beach Dog Off Lead is a short drive south, keeping to council's morning off-leash hours.
