The Frog's Kitchen is a cosy, well-rated cafe in the Grand Pacific Resort on the Esplanade, looking straight across at Bulcock Beach. Dogs are welcome on the undercover terrace, so you can settle in with an organic Merlo coffee and a water view without leaving the dog behind.

The dog setup. Dogs join you on the outdoor, undercover terrace overlooking the water, which is the cafe's main seating and sits at footpath level for easy access. It is sheltered, so it works in sun or a passing shower. Staff are friendly to dogs and will often bring water, but a collapsible bowl is worth packing.

Good to know. It runs all-day breakfast and fresh lunches with organic Merlo coffee, juices and cakes, and there are solid vegetarian and vegan options. The selling point is the view straight over Bulcock Beach. Note it is closed Thursdays, opening Friday to Wednesday from 7am to 2:30pm.

Getting there. Find it at Shop 5a, 38 Esplanade, in the Grand Pacific Resort at Bulcock Beach. Metered street parking runs along the Esplanade, with a resort parking area nearby. It is an easy walk along the Bulcock Beach boardwalk.

Nearby with the dogs. A pet-friendly walking path runs directly in front of the cafe along Bulcock Beach, good for a post-coffee stroll on lead toward Happy Valley. Follow Sunshine Coast Council signage for leash rules along the foreshore.

When to go. Weekday mornings are quietest and the view is at its best early. Weekends fill the terrace fast, so arrive soon after opening if you want a water-side table with the dog.
