What visitors mention
Coochin Park is a three-hectare off-leash reserve on Coochin Street in Dicky Beach, a short walk from the beachfront shops on Beerburrum Street. It is a genuine local's park: open grass, good tree cover, and enough room for a proper run rather than a quick lap.
The rules. Dogs need to be under effective voice control and supervised at all times. Pick up after your dog immediately, bins are provided on site. Declared dangerous or menaced dogs are not permitted. Keep dogs leashed near the children's playground and any picnic or barbecue areas, the off-leash allowance applies to the open park, not those spots.
What's there. Plenty of shade trees, dog waste bins, wheelchair-accessible entrances, and open green space for fetch or a wander. There is no dedicated fencing around the whole park, so it suits dogs that are reliably recall-trained.
Getting there. The park sits just off Nicklin Way via Beerburrum Street. Street parking along Coochin Street and the surrounding residential roads is usually easy to find, and there are nearby bus routes on Nicklin Way if you're coming without a car.
Nearby with the dogs. The Dicky Beach shopping strip on Beerburrum Street, a few minutes' walk east, has several dog-friendly cafes. The beach itself and the coastal pathway toward Moffat Beach are both close by for a longer outing.

Weekday mornings and evenings are quieter than weekend afternoons, which tend to be the busiest window. Good for owners who want a real off-leash run without driving to the bigger reserves.
