Groundskeeper Willie Coffee Roasters is a small-batch specialty roastery in the residential back streets of Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast, a short walk from the beach strip. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor deck, and the signature Houndstooth blend is roasted in honour of the owner's own dog.

The dog setup

Seating is predominantly outdoor and semi-outdoor on the deck, which suits dogs well. Water bowls are generally available and staff are dog-friendly, with the odd pat handed out to visiting regulars. The deck is compact, so keep dogs leashed and settled, and confirm the policy at the counter if it is your first visit.

Worth knowing

This is a coffee-focused stop rather than a full-kitchen cafe: the Houndstooth blend is roasted on site daily, single-origin filter, aeropress and cold brew rotate through the menu, and bags of freshly roasted beans are for sale to take home. Doors open 6am to 11:30am on weekdays and the roastery closes on weekends, so plan an early weekday run rather than a Saturday stop.

Getting there and parking

The roastery sits on Allen Street in a residential and light-industrial pocket, with free street parking usually available on Allen and the surrounding streets. It is an easy short walk from the main Moffat Beach cafe strip and the headland.

Close by with the dogs

The Moffat Beach coastal pathway is the natural pairing for a takeaway cup, and the Currimundi Beach dog off-leash area a couple of kilometres south gives your dog a proper swim. For a second coffee on the way back down the coast, Between the Flags at Dicky Beach sits right on the route.
