Oakberry Acai Byron Bay

Oakberry Acai is a quick-service acai bowl spot at Shop 2A/3 Lawson Street, in the Byron Bay town centre just across from Main Beach, trading 8am to 6pm every day. For dog owners it is a fast, healthy stop rather than a sit-down: footpath seating out front lets you hold the lead while you grab a bowl.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables, on lead. As a food premises, indoors is for people only. The seating is a handful of casual high-top tables with counter service, so it suits a short stop on a beach walk rather than a long sit. Bring your own water; this is a grab-and-go counter with no table service and no public restroom.

Worth knowing

The bowls are built on acai that is 100 percent natural, organic, lactose-free and gluten-free, layered in small, regular or large cups with build-your-own toppings: banana, strawberries and passion fruit, vegan granola, coconut and chia, peanut crumble and Brazil's paçoca peanut candy. Orders come out fast, which makes it a handy cold refuel on a hot day between the beach and town.

Getting there and parking

Lawson Street is central and walkable. Street parking on Lawson and Jonson is scarce in peak season; the paid Lawson Street car park is the nearest option, but walking in from wherever you are staying is the easier call.

Close by with the dogs

Main Beach sits directly opposite for an on-lead stroll, and the Belongil Beach South dog exercise area is a short way north for off-lead time, with the Tallow Beach dog exercise area further south at Suffolk Park.
