Wild Ren Wines

Wild Ren Wines is a boutique, family-run cellar door inside Peppers Creek Village at 1946 Broke Road, Pokolbin. It is the kind of place where the person pouring is closely connected to the wine: tastings are intimate and personable, and the signature move is the Birds of a Feather wine and gin flight. Open 10am to 4pm every day.

Dogs at the cellar door

The dog-friendly space is the outdoor area and the grounds around the village rather than the tasting room itself. Peppers Creek Village is a shared precinct with several businesses, so keep your dog on a lead and close by, and ask the staff on arrival about indoor access if the weather turns. Bring your own water bowl, since the village is rustic rather than pet-fitted.

Worth knowing

Beyond the standard tasting, the cellar door runs truffle tastings and pours a limoncello gin that gets people talking. The semillon is the local classic and worth the trip on its own. Because the village courtyard is compact and shared, a midweek visit keeps things calmer for a dog than a weekend rush, and in summer aim for the earlier part of the day before the Broke Road heat settles in.

Getting there and parking

Peppers Creek Village sits on Broke Road in the heart of Pokolbin wine country, an easy drive from Cessnock. There is ample free parking on site, so you can leave the car and wander the village with the dog on lead. Cafe Enzo and the Pukara Estate olive oil boutique are part of the same village stop.
