Meerea Park at 426 McDonalds Road is a boutique, family-owned winery, established 1991, set among green lawns and flower gardens, and it is about as dog-welcoming as Pokolbin gets. Dogs come inside the cellar door, and water bowls are dotted through the buildings and grounds.

Where the dog goes. Dogs are welcome inside the main cellar door and out across the grounds. Keep yours on a lead or under strict voice control. Water bowls are placed throughout the buildings and gardens, so hydration is sorted.

What is there. Award-winning, premium single-vineyard wines made by acclaimed winemaker Gwyn Olsen, with rich Hunter Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz the signatures. The setting is relaxed and intimate, with lush lawns to settle on.

Getting there. 426 McDonalds Road, easy to reach by car with on-site parking, and sitting on the McDonalds Road walking path. That path links several cellar doors, so you can leave the car at your accommodation and walk between them with the dog.

When to go. The indoor access and on-site water make it an easy stop in any weather. Weekdays keep the room calm, and the walking path is best tackled in the cool of the morning.
