Wurundjeri Walk

Restored wetlands and creekside tracks make Wurundjeri Walk a relaxed on-lead stroll in Blackburn South. The linear parkland is looked after with help from a local friends group, and it shows.

Lead rules

Whitehorse City Council requires dogs on a leash in parks and reserves unless an area is signed as off-lead. Wurundjeri Walk is an on-lead walk.

The walk

Paths mix gravel, dirt and paved sections, winding along the creek through native plantings. The restored wetlands are the highlight.

You'll find the park off Orchard Grove.

Max: Wetlands mean birds. Keep the lead short and let the dog watch, not chase.

Make a day of it

Hunter Knoll Dog Off Leash Area is nearby when your dog needs a run. For a longer walk, carry on along the Gardiners Creek Trail.

When to go

It suits dogs and owners after a gentle, green walk rather than a big hike, and older dogs will manage it easily. Bring water for the dog.
