Federal Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Federal Reserve is a popular off-leash spot in Mount Waverley, built around a large partially fenced oval ringed by open grass and trees, and managed by the City of Monash. It draws a steady local crowd and doubles as a sports ground, so the off-leash run shares space with a playground and seasonal fixtures. The open room to run is the appeal; the shared use is what you plan around.

The rules. Dogs must be under effective voice or hand control and you must carry a lead. Put your dog on lead within 20m of the playground, the BBQ area, or any organised sport. Dogs are off the off-leash run when the oval is booked for training or a match, so check Monash listings if you are going on a weekend. Clean up after your dog; dispensers are provided.

What is there. A large grassed oval for fetch and running, a water tap with a bowl near the pavilion, sheltered seating and picnic tables, and waste bins around the southern side. A playground sits in one corner, so keep an eye on direction near children.

Getting there. A car park sits near the pavilion off High Street Road, and it is a short walk from Mount Waverley Station on the Glen Waverley line.

Best on weekday mornings between about 10am and 3pm for space; busiest weekend mornings and late weekday afternoons, which suits dogs who like company.
