Glen Waverley North Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Glen Waverley North Reserve is a City of Monash off-leash area set in a larger recreational parkland off Mulgrave Street, with decent grass, some shade and a quieter feel than the bigger basins nearby. It is one of the more enclosed local options, which makes it a sensible pick if your dog is still working on recall.

The dog setup

Dogs may be off lead in the designated area under effective voice control and within sight at all times. They must be on lead within 15 metres of the playground and BBQ area, and on lead whenever organised cricket or other sport is in progress on the oval.

Clean up after your dog, with bins provided, and lead up the moment you leave the off-leash boundary. Note that parts of the reserve are more enclosed than others, so keep an eye on dogs prone to wandering near the open access points.

The vibe

The wider reserve carries a shaded playground, an outdoor fitness hub, cricket nets and a half court, so it hums with families and juniors on weekends while the dog area stays relaxed. There are no public toilets on site, which is worth planning around, and a drinking fountain covers the water side.

Getting there

The reserve sits off Mulgrave Street near Madeline Street in Glen Waverley, with street parking in the surrounding streets. It is walkable from Glen Waverley's central activity area and sits a short drive from the Monash Freeway.

Close by with the dogs

For a bigger run, Jells Road Reserve Dog Off Leash Area in Wheelers Hill is the heavyweight option in the east, and the Glen Waverley Golf Course Adjacent Dog Off Leash Area offers a long linear alternative. Mocha Jo's in central Glen Waverley is the coffee stop on the way home.
