Bogong Reserve is a quiet, unfenced off-leash patch in Glen Waverley, sitting behind the Monash Men's Shed on Bogong Avenue. It is native scrub with a central grassy clearing, better suited to a relaxed sniffing walk than a high-speed run, and it stays calm most of the day.

The rules. Off-leash access is 24 hours under City of Monash rules: effective voice or hand control, a lead carried at all times, and dogs back on-lead within 20 metres of play equipment in use. Keep dogs on-lead on the shared paved paths through the reserve. Carry your own waste bags and take rubbish with you.

What's there. Expect native vegetation, a shared pathway, a small playground, and bench seating, with a small wetland area nearby. There are no dog water fountains and bag dispensers are not reliably stocked, so bring water, a bowl, and your own bags.

Getting there. The reserve is at 12-16 Bogong Avenue, with limited street parking near the Men's Shed. It is a short walk from Glen Waverley Station on the Glen Waverley line, with buses on nearby Springvale Road and Kingsway.

When to go. Weekend mornings and late afternoons bring the locals out; weekday mid-morning to mid-afternoon is the quietest. Good for calm dogs who enjoy a steady bushland wander.
