The Glen Waverley Golf Course Adjacent Dog Off Leash Area is the open grassy flat south of the Glen Waverley Sports Hub South car park, tucked alongside the golf course off Waverley Road. It is unfenced parkland with mature shade trees, and one thing decides whether it suits your dog: recall. Nothing separates the grass from the road or the golf greens.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash under effective voice or hand control per the City of Monash Dog Control Order, with a cap of two dogs per person. You must carry a short lead no longer than 1.5 metres, keep your dog in sight at all times, and leash up within 20 metres of playgrounds, organised sport, or barbecue areas. Lead up in the car parks and connecting paths, and carry your own bags in case the dispenser is empty.

The vibe

Open, well-drained grass with scattered shade and bench seating, sharing its edges with the Sports Hub and the golf course. It is a practical neighbourhood run rather than a destination park: quiet through the middle of the day, busier on weekend mornings and after school hours.

Max: unfenced and hard against a busy road and live golf greens. If your dog chases balls or bolts, keep them on a long line here and save the free run for a fenced reserve.

Getting there and parking

The address is 915 Waverley Road, Glen Waverley, near the Waverley Road and Jells Road corner, with sealed parking at the Sports Hub South car park. The 737 and 742 buses both stop within a short walk along Waverley Road if you are not driving.

Worth knowing

The upgraded Sports Hub facilities next door cover toilets and a coffee fix, and bag dispensers and a drinking-water point are usually on hand. Keep dogs off the golf course boundary entirely so play is not interrupted, and remember the leash-in-bag rule even when the dog starts the visit off-lead.

Close by with the dogs

Brandon Park Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is the closest alternative run, and Mocha Jo's Cafe & Brunch on Kingsway has shaded outdoor tables for the post-walk coffee.
