Jacaranda Reserve

Jacaranda Reserve is a patch of open grass on Jacaranda Drive in Woodside, handy for a short loop close to home in the Adelaide Hills. Plan on keeping the dog on lead.

Lead rules

Adelaide Hills Council asks for dogs to be under effective control in its local parks, and on lead near streets, footpaths and play areas. Some dog directories call this an off-lead space, but the council does not list it as one, so treat it as on lead unless a sign on site says otherwise.

The walk

Expect grass and informal tracks around the open field, with concrete residential footpaths on the edges. It is a neighbourhood loop of well under a kilometre, with lawns, young plantings and glimpses of the hills.

Established trees give patchy shade. There is no dog water on site, so bring a bowl and bags.

Make a day of it

Stop for a coffee at Avalon of Woodside, or stretch out on the Amy Gillett Bikeway.

Best for a quick morning or evening leg-stretch rather than a long outing. Street parking on Jacaranda Drive makes it easy to drop in.
