ArtWine pairs an art-filled, architecturally designed cellar door with vineyard views over its Woodside estate, and the twist is what is in the glass: Mediterranean varieties like fiano, arneis and gruner veltliner that are still unusual in the Adelaide Hills.

The dog setup

Dogs on lead are welcome in the outdoor deck and terrace areas, with water available on request. The space is shared with other guests working through tastings and platters, so a calm spot near the edge of the terrace works best on busy days.

The vibe

The wines are estate grown with minimal sulphites, and tastings lean into the alternative varieties alongside grenache and tempranillo. Cheese and dip platters of local produce cover the food side. Weekend afternoons bring tasting groups and the deck fills, so weekday afternoons are the relaxed window if the dog is joining.

Opening hours run 10am to 4pm Tuesday through Saturday and from midday on Sunday, with the cellar door closed Mondays. Book ahead for guided tastings if you want a table locked in.

Getting there and parking

The cellar door sits at 72 Bird in Hand Road, Woodside, roughly 35 minutes from Adelaide's CBD with on-site parking. The country roads around Bird in Hand also make for a decent on-leash walk before you settle in for a tasting.

Build an Adelaide Hills loop with nearby cellar doors: Simon Tolley's cellar door is close by in Woodside and Tilbrook Estate sits up the road in Lobethal. For lunch, Avalon of is a Woodside cafe option for the morning after or the coffee before.
