Tilbrook Estate

Tilbrook Estate is the family-run cellar door on 1856 Lobethal Road in the Adelaide Hills, rebuilt after the 2019 Cudlee Creek bushfire and now running as one of South Australia's zero net carbon cellar doors. Unusually for the Hills, dogs are welcome inside the cellar door itself, not just on the lawn, which makes it a genuinely all-weather stop with the dog.

Dogs can come inside to the tasting room and are equally welcome on the outdoor lawn and seating areas, with water bowls typically on hand. On-leash is the rule across all shared areas; a fenced off-leash space is planned down the track but is not there yet, so treat the whole site as on-lead. If you want to stay overnight, the 45-acre property takes campers through Hipcamp and pets are allowed on a lead or properly contained, with self-containment expected since the fixed facilities run on cellar door hours.

The vibe

The list leans cool-climate: chardonnay and pinot noir headline, with gluten-free methods in the cellar, and wood-fired pizzas come out on service days. Hours are limited, Friday evenings 5:30pm to 8:30pm and weekends midday to 5pm, closed Monday to Thursday, so confirm the day before you drive up the hill.

The address is 1856 Lobethal Road, Lobethal, an easy drive from the Woodside side of the Hills or up from Lobethal township. Free on-site parking sits beside the cellar door.
