Watkins Street Reserve

Watkins Street Reserve has a stretch of creekside grass in Diamond Creek where dogs can run off lead, right beside the Diamond Creek Trail. Nillumbik Shire Council manages the reserve.

Leads and the off-lead area

The off-lead area is the open grass between the Diamond Creek Trail and the creek, and dogs there must stay under effective control.

Between the trail and the road, dogs must be on lead. The same rule applies within 5 metres of any shared path.

The setting

The shared trail is paved, and the reserve itself is grass. Trees border the open ground, with Diamond Creek running alongside.

Because the regional trail runs right through, it is easy to add an on-lead walk before or after a run on the grass.

Max: Bikes use the Diamond Creek Trail. Clip on before you cross it, and keep 5 metres off the path.

When to go

Water on site is not confirmed, so bring some for the dog. The off-lead grass suits dogs with reliable recall, given the shared trail next door.
