Hurstbridge Dog Park

Hurstbridge Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash area inside Ferguson's Paddock on Arthurs Creek Road, open 24 hours a day. The flat, open field and on-site water tank make it an easy stop whether you are passing through on the Hurstbridge line or based in the village for the day.

The rules. Dogs must be kept under effective voice or hand control even inside the fenced area, and back on the leash the moment you step outside it. Nillumbik Shire's off-leash conditions call for supervision at all times, a limit of two dogs per person, and dogs on-leash within five metres of shared paths in the surrounding parkland. Confirm current signage on the day, since council rules can be updated.

What's there. The park is fully fenced, with a water tank for dogs, poo bags provided, and benches with some shade for owners. Free on-site parking is available.

Getting there. It's a short walk or drive from Hurstbridge Railway Station on the Hurstbridge line, and easily reached from the main village on Arthurs Creek Road.

Nearby with the dogs. Hurstbridge village on Main Road has several dog-friendly cafes with outdoor seating, including Bridge 2 Eden Cafe and WILD WOMBAT Cafe, both an easy walk or drive away.

When to go. Weekday mornings and Wednesday or Thursday evenings tend to be quiet. Monday mornings, Friday afternoons and Saturday afternoons draw the biggest crowds, so aim outside those windows if your dog is easily overwhelmed.
