What visitors mention
Hamlin Street Fenced Dog Park is a small, fully fenced off-leash park on the corner of Fitzwilliam Drive and Hamlin Street in Doreen, in the Laurimar estate. It is compact rather than sprawling, but the secure double-gated fencing makes it a reliable spot for a quick off-leash run or a training session without the risk of a dog bolting.
The rules. Dogs may run off-leash within the fenced boundary, provided they respond to voice control. The park has double-gated entrances designed to stop dogs slipping out while others come and go. Bring your own poop bags: there is no bag dispenser on-site, so pack out after your dog.
What's there. The ground is a mix of grass, sand and gravel, which helps keep the space usable after rain. There is some basic seating for owners and a few agility features, including weave poles. Shade and water are limited, so bring a water bottle and a bowl, especially on warm days.
Getting there. The park sits within the residential Laurimar estate and is easiest to reach by car, with free street parking nearby. Local bus routes run along Painted Hills Road a short walk away, but there is no direct public transport to the gate.
Nearby with the dogs. Laurimar Town Centre is a short drive or a longer walk away and has a handful of cafes with outdoor seating, including Appret Cafe and Laurimar Espresso Bar, both of which welcome dogs outdoors.

Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons and Fridays tend to be the busiest windows locally, so early weekday mornings or quieter evenings are the best bet for a calmer run. Confirm current rules and hours on the City of Whittlesea website before you go, since local dog park signage can change.
