Jack Cook Memorial Park

Jack Cook Memorial Park sits on Indooroopilly Road in Toowong, right on the Taringa border. It is an on-lead circuit around a sports oval, directly across the road from the fenced off-lead park at Perrin Park.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council requires dogs on a lead across the whole of Jack Cook Memorial Park. The off-lead enclosure is at Perrin Park, over the road.

The walk

The loop is flat and grassy, circling the oval and the Toowong Harriers athletics track, with fitness equipment along the way.

Many locals use it as a steady warm-up on lead, then cross to Perrin Park for off-lead play.

Water and parking

Bubblers are in the precinct and bins sit around the edge. Mature trees shade parts of the perimeter, but the oval itself is open to the sun.

There is free parking by the athletics field off Indooroopilly Road.

Make a day of it

Finish with a coffee at Scatter Bean or The AVID Coffee Lounge.

Go early or late in summer, since shade is patchy. Athletics use means the oval can be busy.
