Dawes Point Reserve

Dawes Point Park puts you right under the southern pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with wide views across the water. It sits at Dawes Point in The Rocks, beside Millers Point, the City of Sydney manages it, and dogs are welcome on lead.

The walk

Paved concrete and asphalt paths cross grassy park ground, with close-up views of the bridge deck overhead.

The reserve links into the harbour foreshore path toward Walsh Bay, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour, so it is easy to stretch the walk. Bubblers sit along the foreshore paths, and there are bins and bag dispensers.

Scattered trees give some shade, but there is little built shelter. Street parking on Hickson Road is limited and paid.

When to go

Shade is patchy, so cooler parts of the day suit it best in summer. The paved paths make it easy going for older dogs.
