Richard Road Park

Richard Road Park sits on the edge of Capestone Lake in Mango Hill, and it gives you two things in one stop: a lakeside path for a walk on lead and a fenced off-lead area split for small and large dogs.

Lead rules

The City of Moreton Bay runs the park. Dogs stay on a lead in the general park and along the lake, and can go off lead only inside the enclosures.

The separate small and large dog sections make it an easier place for timid or tiny dogs.

The walk

A paved concrete shared path follows the water, with wide views across Capestone Lake, and it links into the walking paths that loop around the lake.

Water and shade

Both enclosures have water fountains with bowls for dogs, and sheltered seats for shade. Street parking serves the park.

Families use the playground, flying fox, outdoor gym and barbecues, so expect company.

Make a day of it

Add a second lake lap at Halpine Lake Reserve Loop, or head to Told You So for coffee.

Morning is the pick for a lap on lead before the enclosures fill up. The flat, paved path suits older dogs.
