Halpine Lake Reserve Loop

Halpine Lake Reserve Loop is a 1.8-kilometre sealed circuit around a suburban wetland lake in Mango Hill, about 20 minutes at a steady pace. Dogs stay on lead for the whole lap.

Leads on the loop

The City of Moreton Bay requires dogs on lead along the reserve path and perimeter walkways. It is a social loop, so keep leads short when passing other walkers.

The walk

The path is flat asphalt and concrete, with open grassy banks and waterbirds on the lake. Council bins and dog bag stations sit along the way.

Parts of the lakeside path have little shade, so check the pavement on hot days. Carry water and a bowl, as drinking points for dogs vary.

Park on Halpine Drive or nearby streets. The loop is also close to Mango Hill train station.

Make a day of it

Coffee is in North Lakes at The Fort Specialty Coffee or Caffeine Trader.

When to go

Early morning or evening is best in summer, when the pavement is cooler. At this length it makes an easy daily lap for most dogs, seniors included.
