Told You So

Told You So is a small, community-minded coffee shop in the Evergreen Centre at Shop 1, 14 Discovery Drive, North Lakes, that doubles as a stockist for local makers. It is a morning operation, roughly 6am to midday Monday to Saturday and closed Sundays, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating out front.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the casual outdoor tables, which suits a quick stop mid-walk rather than a long brunch. A puppuccino is on the menu, made with lactose-free milk and a treat on the side, so there is something at the counter for your dog too. The outdoor setup is compact, so bring a travel bowl if your dog needs water.

Worth knowing

The coffee is specialty roaster stock, and crumpets, bagels and locally made snacks are the order of the day, with shelves of goods from local artists and makers along one wall. It leans cosy and community over big and roomy, so solo visitors and pairs fit better than big groups with dogs. The whole visit works well inside half an hour, which is exactly what a pre-work coffee stop needs.

Getting there and parking

The shop is in the Evergreen Centre off Discovery Drive, with free off-street parking in the centre lot, so it is an easy in-and-out stop for a takeaway coffee on the way to the park.

Close by with the dogs

The Gardenia dog park and the Aurora Boulevard fenced dog park are both short drives away for an off-leash run either side of coffee, and PureBred Coffee Bar is the local alternative for a later-morning caffeine hit.
