Told You So

Told You So is a small, women-owned coffee shop in the Evergreen Centre at Shop 1/14 Discovery Drive, North Lakes, that doubles as a stockist for local makers. It is a morning operation (roughly 6am to midday, Monday to Saturday, closed Sundays), and dogs are welcome out the front.

The dog setup. Dogs join you at the casual outdoor seating, which suits a quick stop mid-walk. They are known to do puppuccinos (lactose-free milk with a treat), so there is something on the counter for your dog too. Bring a travel bowl if your dog needs water, as the outdoor setup is compact.

Good to know. Single O coffee, crumpets, and locally sourced snacks are the order of the day, plus shelves of goods from local artists and makers. It leans cosy and community over big and roomy.

Getting there. In the Evergreen Centre off Discovery Drive, with free off-street parking in the centre lot. Easy in, easy out for a takeaway coffee.

Nearby with the dogs. Lake Eden's lakeside path is a short drive for a longer leashed walk, and the North Lakes off-leash park on Endeavour Boulevard is close for a run.

Being a morning-only spot, plan an early or mid-morning visit rather than an afternoon one. Good for a coffee-and-puppuccino pit stop on the walk rather than a sit-down meal.
