Norfolk Park

Sports fields, a skate park and shaded picnic spots fill Norfolk Park on Halfway Drive in Ormeau, and concrete paths tie it all together. Dogs are welcome on a lead.

Lead rules

The City of Gold Coast requires a leash at all times in Norfolk Park and in the neighbouring Norfolk West Reserve on Katunga Circuit. Dogs are not allowed in children's playground areas.

The walk

Start by the open fields at the Halfway Drive end, then cross to Norfolk West Reserve, where winding concrete paths pass a small covered gazebo and fitness stations. It is tidy, firm suburban walking rather than bush track.

Toilets are in Norfolk Park, and street parking runs around the edge of both reserves. Dog water points along the paths are limited, so bring your own.

It suits daily walkers, joggers and older dogs that like an even surface. If your dog is easily distracted, pick a time when the fields are quiet.
