Minim Cove Park

Limestone cliffs, native coastal scrub and a long view across the Swan River set Minim Cove Park apart among Mosman Park's river walks. For dog owners, the bigger draw is that much of the parkland is a designated off-lead area.

Leads and the off-lead area

The Town of Mosman Park lets dogs run off lead in the signed parkland areas, but some foreshore sections and other marked zones are on lead only. Read the signs as you go and clip on where they ask.

Locals describe the off-lead stretch running along the parkland and foreshore paths from Downey Drive down towards Edwards Parade at the Fremantle boundary.

The walk

Paths are a mix of paved dual-use track and limestone, rising to elevated lookouts over the river. Mature trees and native plants throw pockets of shade along the way.

Water dogs can get down to the river at spots such as Milo Beach for a paddle. Bins sit throughout the park, but carry your own bags.

Pepsi: Pack a towel. A paddle at Milo Beach is the best part of this walk for a dog that loves the water.

There is parking near the park boundaries, including off Fairbairn Street.

Make a day of it

Finish with a coffee at Kinky Lizard Cafe Mosman Park or Phyl & Tom.

It suits social dogs with reliable recall, and the shaded pockets make early mornings the pick in summer.
