Phyl & Tom

Phyl & Tom is a small boutique cafe and deli on Victoria Street in Mosman Park, known for old-fashioned hospitality, a strong vegetarian-friendly cabinet and a genuine community feel. It opens 7am to 2pm every day and is happy to have dogs join you at the tables.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, and reports suggest well-behaved dogs are sometimes let inside too, but given the cafe's small footprint the safe plan is outdoor seating, especially on busy weekend mornings. Staff have a reputation for warmth towards pets and will often bring out water. Keep your dog leashed and settled, the space is tight.

Worth knowing

The cabinet does the talking: paninis, savoury muffins that locals rate among the area's best, bagels, a gluten-free section, carrot cake and cinnamon rolls. Seating is limited and it fills fast on weekends, so arriving early is the difference between a table and a takeaway. Street parking nearby is free, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

Getting there and parking

Victoria Street runs through the Mosman Park village, a short hop off Stirling Highway. Free street parking is generally available on the surrounding streets, and it is an easy walk-in stop rather than a destination requiring a detour.

Close by with the dogs

Leighton Beach Dog Exercise Area is minutes north and allows off-lead swimming and running around the clock, leashes on in the car parks and approach paths. The Town of Mosman Park's own dog exercise areas are generally off-lead 24/7 under effective control, with playgrounds strictly off limits. For another coffee stop, Kinky Lizard Cafe is in the same suburb and Daisies is up the road in Cottesloe.
