Kinky Lizard Cafe Mosman Park

Kinky Lizard is a neighbourhood cafe in the Mosman Park Shopping Centre, a small western-suburbs strip between Stirling Highway and the river. It is a quick, quality pit stop rather than a lingering brunch destination, and the outdoor tables out front take well-behaved dogs on lead, which makes it a regular stop for local dog walkers.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, not inside. The tables sit on the shopping centre walkway, so keep your dog leashed and close to the table, and pick a spot near the edge of the seating area so prams and other dogs can get past. Staff are used to four-legged regulars and will usually bring a water bowl if you ask, though provisions vary by day, so a portable bowl is the safe play. Weekday mornings are the quiet sessions; weekend breakfast fills in fast.

Worth knowing

The coffee is locally roasted and reliably good, and the menu covers smashed avocado, big breakfasts, eggs benedict variations, burgers, wraps and waffles, with banana bread and muffins in the cabinet and milk alternatives for the flat white crowd. Hours are 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 2pm Saturday and 7:30am to 2pm Sunday, so it is an early-to-midday operation.

Getting there and parking

Find it at Shop 7/50 Harvey Street, Mosman Park, in the shopping centre just off Stirling Highway. Free centre parking sits right outside, and the cafe is an easy stop if you are walking through the suburb from the train or the foreshore.

While you are out there

The Swan River foreshore around Minim Cove is close for an on-lead walk, and the Lake Claremont Dog Agility Area and the Carrington Park Fenced Dog Park cover off-lead time nearby.
