Carrington Park Fenced Dog Park

Carrington Park's dog exercise area is a fully fenced, double-gated off-leash space on the corner of Weld Street and Carrington Street in Nedlands, kept separate from the park's children's playground so recall practice and playtime do not mix with the swings.

The rules. Dogs get off-leash freedom inside the fenced area, but the City of Nedlands still expects voice control at all times. Waste bags and bins are provided, and owners are expected to pick up immediately. The moment you step out of the fenced zone and into the playground side, dogs go back on lead.

What's there. The fenced area is grassed with mature trees for shade, benches for owners, and a double-gate entry that gives you a buffer to unclip the lead safely before your dog reaches the open space. Water is sometimes available on-site but is not guaranteed, so bring a bowl and your own supply to be safe.

Getting there. The park sits at the corner of Weld Street and Carrington Street, Nedlands, with paved parking on Weld Street. Several Transperth bus routes run along nearby Stirling Highway if you are coming without a car.

When to go. Weekday mornings and evenings are the quiet window if your dog is shy around others. Weekend mornings, especially Sunday, bring the biggest crowd of regulars and off-leash energy, good if your dog thrives on company, worth avoiding if it doesn't.
