Lota Creek Boardwalk

Lota Creek Boardwalk carries you over mangroves and saltmarsh on a quiet circuit in Lota, next door to Wynnum. Dogs are welcome on the boardwalk and circuit track as long as they stay on lead.

Lead rules

The walk is part of Brisbane City Council's Bayside Parklands, and dogs must be leashed at all times to protect the wildlife, saltmarsh and mangroves.

The walk

It starts near Whites Road and runs about 2 km, moving from timber boardwalk onto wide concrete paths. The circuit is flat and passes mangroves, saltmarsh and paperbark forest along Lota Creek.

Benches along the way make it easy to pause.

Water and shade

There are no dog bubblers on the trail and shade is limited, so bring water and a bowl. Street parking is on Whites Road near the entrance.

Max: Much of this circuit is open to the sun. On hot days go early and carry more water than you think the dog needs.

Carry on to Breakwater Park, or grab a coffee at Second Home Coffee.

The flat, quiet circuit suits dogs that prefer a calm walk away from traffic and crowds.
