Sheriff Park Fenced Dog Park sits on Red Gum Crescent in Wakerley, a fully fenced off-leash area open 24 hours a day. The park splits into separate sections for large and small dogs, which makes it one of the more considerate off-leash setups on Brisbane's bayside.
The rules. Dogs are free to roam off-leash inside the fenced boundary, but owners are expected to keep them under reasonable supervision and pick up after them. Bring your own bags as a backup even though bins are usually stocked. There are no posted seasonal closures, but check the on-site signage for any local updates before you visit.
What's there. The park has double-gated entry to stop dogs bolting while you're getting the leash on or off, shaded seating for owners, and a water tap for dogs and people. It's a genuinely large grassed area rather than a token patch of fenced dirt.
Getting there. Free street parking is available on Red Gum Crescent, and the park is an easy drive from Cambridge Parade and Tilley Road. Bus stops serve the wider Wakerley area, but expect a 10 to 15 minute walk from the closest one, so driving is the more practical option for most visits.
Nearby with the dogs. Andonis Cafe & Bar in Manly (about a 5 to 10 minute drive) does a doggy menu and welcomes dogs on its outdoor tables. Manly Kitchen on Cambridge Parade also offers dog-friendly outdoor dining, and Rabbit Hole Cafe & Bar in Wynnum has a dog-friendly outdoor area if you're heading further along the bay.

Weekday mornings are the quietest time to visit, particularly if your dog is shy or still learning the ropes off-leash. Wednesday afternoons and the Friday night into Saturday morning stretch tend to be busiest, so plan around those if you want the park to yourself.
