Kiawanah Park Fenced Dog Park

Kiawanah Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash enclosure at 1522 Wynnum Road, Tingalpa, sitting inside the larger Kianawah Road district park. The point of difference is the built-in agility gear, with climbing steps, a balance bridge and a platform, plus enough open grass for a proper fetch session.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash inside the fence under effective voice or hand control, with a leash carried at all times and dogs leashed the moment you step outside the enclosure. It is a single shared space, so there is no small-dog or large-dog split, and the entry is a single gate rather than a double-gated airlock, so watch for door-dashers when a few dogs arrive at once. Waste bins are provided; clean up straight away and leash and remove any dog showing aggression.

Worth knowing

Underfoot is mostly grass with good natural shade from mature trees, and the surrounding district park adds picnic tables and shelters. There is no reliable water point inside the fence, so bring your own bowl and bottle. The grass wears thin near the gate in dry spells and turns muddy after rain, and the agility gear is best saved for dogs old enough to protect their growing joints.

Pepsi: the balance bridge and platform are the fun bit. Bring treats and run a little confidence course before the zoomies take over.

Getting there and parking

The park fronts Wynnum Road next to the Brisbane Camperland yard, a couple of kilometres west of the Gateway Motorway, with free off-street parking close by. Buses along Wynnum Road stop within walking distance.

Close by with the dogs

Crafty Monk Brewing is almost directly opposite at 1515 Wynnum Road for a dog-friendly lunch, and Grumpy & Lovely Cafe covers the morning coffee run. For another fenced run, Robinson Park Fenced Dog Park is the nearby Tingalpa option and Evelyn Road Park Fenced Dog Park sits a short drive east.
