Carindale Recreation Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Carindale Recreation Reserve's fenced dog park is a large, three-hectare off-leash area on Cadogan Street, known locally as Rocket Park thanks to the space-themed playground next door. It is a popular spot with a genuinely social, regular-crowd feel.

The rules. Dogs need to stay leashed until you are through the gate into the fenced area. There is a separate section for smaller or timid dogs if the main field feels too much. Owners are expected to supervise at all times and clean up immediately, waste bags are supplied on site. The fenced area is accessible 24 hours, though lighting after dark is limited.

What's there. Open grassy fields with scattered shade trees, water fountains, shaded seating, and waste bag dispensers. On-site parking has recently been upgraded for easier access. The wider recreation reserve next door adds barbecue areas, toilets, a playground and basketball and exercise facilities, useful if you are making a longer stop of it.

Getting there. The park is at 27 Cadogan Street, Carindale, off Pine Mountain Road, with on-site parking. It is a short walk from bus routes on Pine Mountain Road and from the Westfield Carindale bus interchange.

Nearby with the dogs. Westfield Carindale, about five minutes away, has several cafes with dog-friendly outdoor seating. Brisbane Holiday Village, roughly ten minutes' drive, lists pet-friendly accommodation.

Weekend mornings are the busiest, with a strong regular crowd. Weekdays, especially early afternoon, are noticeably quieter. The open field holds heat well, so cooler months or early mornings in summer are the more comfortable choice.
