Newbury Place Park Fenced Dog Park

Newbury Place Park's fenced dog park is a large, mostly flat off-leash space on Cribb Road in Carindale, open 24 hours and fully fenced. At around three hectares it has more room to move than most suburban dog parks, with a separate gated section for small or nervous dogs.

The rules. Dogs need to be leashed until you are through the gate and inside the fenced area. Owners are expected to keep voice control and supervise at all times, and to clean up immediately using the waste bags and bins provided. Dogs showing aggression should be removed from the park.

What's there. Grassy open fields with scattered shade trees, benches, a water bubbler (occasionally reported as low pressure, so it pays to bring a backup bowl), basic agility equipment in parts of the park, and waste bag dispensers throughout.

Getting there. The address is 61A Cribb Road, Carindale, reached via Creek Road. Free street parking is available nearby and it is wheelchair accessible. Bus routes on Creek Road put it around a 5 to 10 minute walk from the nearest stop.

Nearby with the dogs. Table 26 at Westfield Carindale has a dedicated pet-friendly alfresco area and its own grooming salon, Paws. Little Black Pug in Mount Gravatt is another dog-friendly option with outdoor seating. For accommodation, Carindale has hotel options within a 5 to 10 minute drive, though it is worth confirming pet policy directly before booking.

Weekend mornings are the busiest, with a regular crowd of locals; Sunday evenings and weekday afternoons also get heavy use. Weekday mornings and late Saturday nights are quieter. In summer, aim for early morning or late afternoon, the open field holds the midday heat.
